Pros:
This theme is based on the game "Grim Fandango"
by Lucasarts, the creator of "Full Throttle"
and "Days of the tentacules". Game based themes
are usually better than most theme packages simply
because most of the work is already done, as far as
graphics and sound is concerned. This particular package
goes the extra distance with 4 themes to choose from,
with 1 containing an active desktop for Windows 98 users
and the other 3 containing different 640x480 JPG
wallpaper images and well matched color schemes. The
desktop icons, cursors, and sounds are shared among all 4
themes and also in the highest quality. There's even an
extra font and a set of logo files. The only thing
"Grim" about this package is the name.
Cons:
The wallpaper images are great but only 640x480
pixels leaves out a large majority of 800x600 and even
1024x768 users. The "My Computer" icon is not
referenced correctly in 3 of the theme files. It should
be "CaptManny.ico" but it's
"manny.ico" for some reason. There is no
information stating that if you unzip to the root
directory, the new startup and shutdown logo files will
overwrite your current files (logo.sys, logow.sys, and
logos.sys).
Overall:
Just be sure to backup your original logo files by
renaming them (*.backup) before unzipping the package to
your root directory. Really, other than the minor desktop
icon detail, it's all in order and ready to go.
